Do I Need a Doormat?

Whilst not a necessity, having a doormat at your front door is very practical as they are designed to remove dirt and moisture from shoes, keeping your floors squeaky clean.

In an ideal world however your front door needs two doormats, one outside and one inside. That’s right, two doormats are better than one and will provide the ultimate protection for your floors!

Which Doormats are Best?

As mentioned, your front door should have two doormats: one inside and one outside. Your first mat should be an outdoor scraper mat, such as a rubber or coir doormat to scrape off any mud and dirt, followed by an absorbent, washable mat inside to soak up excess moisture and trap any missed dirt.

How to Clean a Doormat

With a Hug Rug at your front door you won’t have to worry about how to keep your doormat clean. Simply brush away any dry dirt or mud, pop your Hug Rug in a cotton pillow case and put it in the washing machine at 30ºC with the drum at a low spin speed. And there you have it, your Hug Rug will be looking good as new!

For any outdoor mats, all it takes is a little bit of water and a brush to keep them looking clean and fabulous. Whether you own a rubber or coir doormat, scrape off any excess mud and dirt before using a stiff-bristle brush and water to clean any remaining dirt.
