The Willow Boughs Coir Doormat is inspired by the intricate trees that William Morris loved to look at on his walks. On one such walk was along the River Thames in London with his daughter May Morris, who later recounted it as the point of inspiration for Willow Boughs: 'We were walking one day by our little stream that runs into the Thames, and my Father pointed out details and variety in the leaf forms and soon afterwards this paper was done, a keenly observed rendering of our willows.'
Designed in 1887, it quickly became one of Morris & Co.’s most popular designs of the time, since it so wonderfully reflects William Morris’ great observation and fascination with nature. Willow Boughs is a leafy pattern in shades of green

Each of our coir doormats features an eco-friendly latex backing for added durability and long-lasting performance. Naturally tough and highly effective at scraping away mud and dirt from shoes, they act as your first line of defence in keeping your floors clean. Best used at front and back doors, especially when paired with a Hug Rug washable doormat. If you are using this product outside, we recommend placing your mat in a sheltered area to extend the life and design of the product.
